Georgiou has come a long way since its inception in 1977.
Operating as a subcontractor on stormwater, sewerage and water components, the company, then known as Direct Drainage, flourished and expanded and in 1991, acquired two new business capabilities – Roadpave, and Geocrete, our precast concrete facility.
In 1996, the trio worked together to create Western Australia’s largest residential estate: Ellenbrook. It was a pivotal moment in Georgiou’s history, with our three companies handling the earthworks, sewerage and drainage, road works and retaining walls. The group of companies worked seamlessly together, and in 1998, a new banner with common systems was developed: the Georgiou Group.
The new Group began diversifying the scope and sale of its projects and in 2007, began the process of reviewing the Georgiou brand. After entering the resources sector in 2007, Georgiou Building commenced in 2008, and also established a Mining Services business unit, focusing on the supply of heavy earthmoving equipment to the mining and resources sector.
Georgiou Queensland was established in 2008, with Georgiou Victoria following shortly thereafter. In 2009, Georgiou unveiled its new look logo – designed to reflect its growing and dynamic business.
Our strategy to expand the business into the oil and gas sector and capture more resource business remains active.
Having won the WA Business News “Best Employer Award” (large company category) in both 2009 and 2010, it is evident we are on our way to living our vision to be ‘the best people to work with’.
Today, it is pleasing to now see strong economic signs of improvement in project opportunities, particularly in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales, and Georgiou is fortunate to have a high level of work in hand.[/learn_more] [learn_more caption=”Hutchinson Builders”]

In October 2001 Jack retired from active day- to-day duties as Chairman, although he still retains a prominent interest in the business.
Scott has been responsible for expanding the business significantly since taking the reins, initially as Managing Director and subsequently as Chairman.
In 2001 following Jack’s retirement, Scott was appointed Chairman of the Board with Greg Quinn being appointed Managing Director – the first non-family member to hold that position.
Greg joined Hutchinson Builders after 17 years with the Queensland & NSW Master Builders Association where he was Executive Director of both organisations. Scott Hutchinson and Greg Quinn are working closely together to take Hutchinson’s into its second century as a vibrant, contemporary and innovative construction company that maintains a healthy respect for traditional values and the proud heritage that has been meticulously crafted over almost a century.

Winslow has achieved solid and sustained growth from humble beginnings in 1985 to become a significant player in the Civil Construction Industry.
Incorporated in 1985 Winslow was formed by its current Director and owner, Dino Strano and Tony Mauro.
The way the Winslow name was chosen by Dino and Tony was unique and reflects the “different” way of thinking and operating that is still part of the business today. A way of thinking that is quick, efficient and gets the job done well.
Dino simply opened a street directory to a random page and, with his eyes closed, put his finger on a street. The name of that street became the name of the company, Winslow.
A major step forward for the business was winning its first contract, a laneway in Nunawading, for the princely sum of $17,000.
In 1985 Winslow opened its first office in a small shop located in a small suburban shopping strip in St James Road Rosanna in Melbourne. The office consisted of a reception area and two offices. Winslow’s asset register showed total plant to include a shovel and a jackhammer. Later the company established a workshop to service plant and equipment in a small factory unit in Thomastown gradually moving through larger factory units until in late 2000 the workshop and the office moved to the current Head Office and Winslow Plant Hire premises at Barry Road in Campbellfield. The company now has offices throughout Melbourne in addition to the Head Office at Barry Road and owns significant plant and equipment valued in the millions of dollars.
In 1985 Winslow hired its first employee, Mr Girolimo Mezzatesta. Mr Mezzatesta stayed with Winslow for over 20 years until his retirement. Mr Mezzatesta was honoured for his services to the company with a special presentation at the company’s celebration of 20 years in 2005.
In 1996 Tony Mauro left the group and Dino Strano became the sole Director and Owner.
The company started to grow rapidly and with that growth other service areas were required to ensure the company operated correctly and could sustain the growth.
1993 Winslow Plant Hire was formed.
2003 the OHS&E department was formed.
2004 Winslow Projects, now known as Winslow Infrastructure was formed.
2007 the IR department was formed.
2009 the Business Development department was formed.
2009 the Central Operations Desk was established.
2009 the Advisory Board was formed.
Today the Winslow group is active in Subdivisions, Major Roads, Tunnels and Civil Projects and has in excess of 400 employees.[/learn_more] [learn_more caption=”Ertech”]
