The Certificate IV course is for Electrical workers, Electricians who are seeking opportunity to work in oil and gas and chemical process industry (Hazardous Areas).

This qualification provides competencies to supervise selection, installation, commissioning maintenance and testing of explosion-protected equipment and systems for control and monitoring of plant and processes. The qualification provides competencies in working with explosion protections techniques with elections in how they apply to, gas and dust atmospheres. It includes ERAC requirements for an ‘Electrician’s licence’ and competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain stand-alone renewable energy equipment and systems.
ELIGIBILITY FOR COURSE ENROLMENT:
Candidates must hold a current Unrestricted Electricians licence.

- Specific installation requirements for different types of Ex techniques
- The common testing procedures in the hazardous areas
- Practical assessment – Installation and detailed inspection using on-site practical training bays
- Different types of cable glanding and learn how to select the right cable gland for different sizes and types of cable.

- UEENEEG105A – Those holding an ‘Unrestricted Electricians Licence’ or equivalent issued in an Australian State or Territory meets the requirements of this unit and its pre-requisite requirements.
