About the Cairns Shipping Development Project

Quick Facts:

  • $120m Port of Cairns upgrade
  • Queensland’s independent Coordinator-General has approved the project’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) subject to conditions.
  • Project will improve access for larger ships, including cruise ships.
    • It includes dredging to widen and deepen the existing outer shipping channel
    • widening and deepening of the existing inner harbour channel
    • and upgrades to the existing cruise shipping wharves.
  • expected 195 direct full-time equivalent jobs on average during construction

An Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) is a collective industrial agreement between either an employer and a trade union acting on behalf of employees or an employer and employees acting for themselves.

We are yet to find any EBA’s for this project. As we find any EBA’s they will be added to this article.
