About the Murray Basin Rail Project

- $440 million project
- estimated 276 construction jobs
- upgrade the lines in the Murray Basin from broad gauge to standard gauge
- restore and upgrade the existing standard gauge line between Ararat and Maryborough
- upgrade the lines in the Murray Basin from 19 tonne per axle to 21 tonnes per axle
upgrade the broad-gauge line from Geelong (Gheringhap) to Ballarat (Warrenheip) to dual gauge
upgrade the Ouyen to Murrayville line from broad gauge to standard gauge with axle loading of 19 tonnes per axle.
- Up to an extra 500,000 tonnes of grain transported by rail per annum

- Mobile Plant Operator / Truck Driver
- Crane Operators
- Labourers / Trades Assistants
- Peggy’s /Cleaning Staff
- Health & Safety
Qualifications that may help you get a foot in at the Murray Basin Rail Project
- Relevant Trade Qualifications and VIC Licences
- Occupational Health and Safety – Construction Induction (White Card)
- Australian Drivers Licences
- Cert IV or III Instrumentation (For Electricians)
- High Risk Work Licence for any required plant, eg. EWP, Forklifts, Mobile Crane, Loaders.
- Safely Working at Heights – for EWP workers
- Ability to pass Medical including Drug and Alcohol screening.
- Dogging/Rigging/Scaffolding tickets

Murray Basin Rail Project Enterprise Bargaining Agreements
An Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) is a collective industrial agreement between either an employer and a trade union acting on behalf of employees or an employer and employees acting for themselves.
We are yet to find any EBA’s for this project. As we find any EBA’s they will be added to this article.
