About the West Gate Tunnel Project

Quick facts:

  • Estimated $5.5 billion project.
  • Construction expected to start later this year / early 2018 with works to be completed by the end of 2022
  • The project is expected to create 6,000 new jobs, including up to 500 apprentices.
  • Location – Melbourne, Victoria
  • Project Includes:
    • Widening the West Gate Freeway between the M80 and the West Gate Bridge.
    • Tunnel from the West Gate Freeway to the Maribyrnong River and the Port of Melbourne.
    • Bridge over the Maribyrnong River.
    • State-of-the-art smart technology linking the project to the freeway management systems across the city.
  • Projects owners are Transurban and the Victorian Government
  • Preferred Contractor is CPBJH JV.

An Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) is a collective industrial agreement between either an employer and a trade union acting on behalf of employees or an employer and employees acting for themselves.

We are yet to find any EBA’s for this project. As we find any EBA’s they will be added to this article.
