About the Lismore Base Hospital Redevelopment Project
From the NSW Gov Health website
The Lismore Base Hospital Redevelopment Stage 3A will provide increased capacity, a greater range of services and improved facilities for patients. The project has a capital budget of $80.25 million ($60.25 million from the Australian Government’s Health and Hospital Fund with a $20 million co-contribution from the NSW Government). The project is currently under construction with a phased project completion in late 2016.
The Lismore Base Hospital Redevelopment Project will deliver a contemporary facility in a mix of new and refurbished space. A new multi-story development on the corner of Uralba and Little Uralba streets will include :
- A new and significantly expanded Emergency department
- Emergency Medical Unit
- Emergency Care / Fast Track zone
- Expanded Medical Imaging capacity
- A new ambulance drop-off and bay
- A new renal dialysis unit
- A new Hospital Mortuary
- Future expansion space
- Refurbished spaces will accommodate an expanded community health unit consisting of purposed designed consult and interview rooms
- The project will also include construction of a new Pathology Unit and temporary 10 bed Maternity depart.

- Occupational Health and Safety – Construction Induction (White Card)

- High Risk Work Licence for any required plant, eg. EWP, Forklifts, Mobile Crane, Loaders.
- Safely Working at Heights – for EWP workers
- Ability to pass Medical including Drug and Alcohol screening
- Dogging/Rigging/Scaffolding tickets

Lismore Base Hospital Redevelopment Project Enterprise Bargaining Agreements
An Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) is a collective industrial agreement between either an employer and a trade union acting on behalf of employees or an employer and employees acting for themselves.
At this stage of the project no EBA’s are available. As companies are awarded contracts this EBA section will be updated.
